The Seasonal Sale!
October 8, 2008 by Emily
News
It’s now officially Fall, and it’ll be Winter before we know it and there are so many holidays to celebrate during these two seasons! Besides official holidays Swank Web Style will also be having it’s 3rd birthday in November. So to celebrate all these great holidays and thank all of our wonderful clients who have made the last three years so great, we’ve decided to have a sale on blog designs!
It’s actually two sales in one: Order a holiday or season themed blog design, redesign, or graphics and you’ll get 25% off the total price. If you’re not interested in a holiday design, you’ll still get 20% off a regular blog design.
The Seasonal Sale covers any holiday/season between now and February. This includes (but isn’t limited to):
- Fall
- Winter
- Pink for October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month
- Halloween
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
- New Years
- Valentine’s Day
This sale will be active between now and February, but we recommend you contact us ASAP, especially if you wanting a Fall, Halloween, or Christmas design. We understand that you may not want to spend the money on a completely new design, so this sale also includes redesigns or new graphics if you are just looking to give your current design a holiday/seasonal spin.
If you’re not interested in tricking out your blog for the holidays but still want a new design or redesign, then you’ll still get 20% off the total price! However, the regular blog design sale will expire at the end of our birthday month on November 30th, so you must inquire before then to get the discount.
Try out WordPress 2.5 before it’s released
February 13, 2008 by Emily
Around the Web
The next major release of WordPress is scheduled to come out next month, but you don’t have to wait that long to see it in action. Chris Johnston has put up a demo of the most current development version for people to play around with. Being that there is more than a month left, this is obviously a beta version and there will be changes and improvements made, but it looks like things are really starting to come together.
The most interesting aspect of the new version is the complete admin interface and design refresh. WP 2.5 is going to be a very different looking WordPress. I’m not completely won over by the color scheme (orange!?!), but I’m excited about the change and I think they can pull if off with (much) more polishing.
Besides the admin redesign, there seems to be improvements such as tag management, more intuitive media uploading/management and a reworked dashboard.
Go on over to the demo and try things out yourself. Chris says he will try to keep it up to date when new development versions are released, so it will interesting to watch as new features are added or polished as we get closer to the release date.
Open for Business

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. We had a nice (albeit busy) break ourselves, but it’s back to business as usual now.
You may have noticed (unless you are reading from the comforts of your feedreader, in which case click on over!) that we have completely redesigned our website. The redesign included completely starting from scratch with our portfolio and blog. Both are now more easily browseable, with much more info available about our projects. Plus the site as a whole is a bit lighter and speedier than it used to be.
Please stay tuned for news about our new designers, but as of right now most of our current designers are available. Spots fill up fast, so write in soon! Anyone who wrote in during the break should be hearing from/already heard from one of our designers; you will be first in line.
Happy 2008 to everyone! We think we’re in for an exciting year around here and we hope you will join us!
