We’re Hiring Again

November 29, 2007 | Filed under: News

Since we’re so busy around here and down a few designers we’re going to start hiring again. We’re looking for a few people who would start Jan. 2008 (possibly a bit earlier).

We’re going to be looking for candidates for TWO DIFFERENT POSITIONS.

The first position is a designer/developer. Please go to this post and read the qualifications we are looking for.

The second position is less focused on design and more on coding and installation. You would be working in a two person team with one of our other designers (most likely Shaz or Karen). They will do the full graphics/design and you will take that, slice the graphics and install the the layout on the client’s website. You will most likely be paid by the hour (rate TBD).

You’ll also be responsible for answering technical questions from some of our clients. This might involve hourly rate based work, like fixing/upgrading/troubleshooting websites.

Basic Requirements:

  1. (x)HTML/CSS - Intermediate to Expert knowledge
  2. Knowledgeable about web standards. CSS based developers only, please.
  3. You MUST know WordPress VERY well. Everything from installation and upgrading to themes and plugins.
  4. Experience with FTP, cPanel and servers.

Not required, but helpful to know:

  1. Familiar with installing layouts for: Blogger, Movable Type, TypePad, and Expression Engine.
  2. Graphics editing/creation (ie Photoshop/Illustrator or similar). While this position is more on the technical side, that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t have the opportunity to do design as well.
  3. Other programming languages like PHP, Javascript, AJAX, etc.
  4. Creating plugins for WordPress.
  5. Familiar with installing/skinning forums.

Please refer to this post as much of the info applies to this position, too. This is more of a part-time position than the designer/developer position, but you still need to be available for a consistent number of hours throughout the week.

Please send your info to contact@swankwebstyle.com.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Please check back here for updates. We hope to hear from you soon!
